eWave-Grame Project



eWave-Grame project:
'Creations for flutes and live electronics'

The eWave ensemble has started a project together with Grame, Lyon, and other European partners titled 'eWave, creations for flutes and live electronics'. The project has been aiming for the creation and presentation of five new works involving live-electronics for eWave by five European composers. Each composer has been closely working together with the ensemble while creating their new pieces. The project has been supported by the Programme Culture 2000 of the European Union.


Rehearsals and concerts schedule

  • September 1-5, 2003: rehearsal week Genes, Belgium
    A first rehearsal week with the ensemble, the composers, the technician and Grame-staff.

In March 2004 a second rehearsal week was organised at Grame in Lyon, followed by 3 concerts in France:

  • March 10-15/03/2004: rehearsal week Lyon, France
  • March 16, 2004: Theatre Villefranche
  • March 18, 2004: Theatre Bourge-en-Bresse
  • March 20, 2004: Chapelle de la Trinité, Lyon / Biennale Musiques en Scène (organized by Grame)

In June 2004 a concerttour brought the ensemble to Spain and Italy:

  • June 6, 2004: Museum Reina Sofia/CdMC, Madrid
  • June 10, 2004: Goethe Institute/CRM, Roma

Grame welcomes in residence the composers Yann Orlarey and Jean Paul Dessy, offers its technical equipment to their disposal as well as personal help for the realization of pieces, assures two music commissions for composers and presents two concerts in the context of the Biennale Musiques en Scène in the Theatres of Villefranche and Bourg-en-Bresse.

CRM welcomes in residence the composer Michelangelo Lupone, offers its technical equipment to his disposal as well as personal help for the realization of the piece, takes in charge a musical commission and presents the concert in Rome.

LIEM-CDMC welcomes in residence the composer Sofia Martinez, offers its technical equipment to her disposal as well as personal help for the realization of the piece, takes in charge a musical commission and presents the concert in Madrid.
